Why Is Stretching Good For You?

Why Is Stretching Good For You?

Is it important to stretch your body frequently?

Stretching is a conditioning exercise shown to improve the tone and health of muscles; limbers up tendons, ligaments, and joints; and changes the dynamics of the nervous system.

Muscles contain stretch receptors, which are special groups of cells that inform the central nervous system about their state of tension.

This might be why stretching your muscles can change your level of arousal and mood.

10-Minute Meditation For Better Focus

Does meditation improve focus?

10-Minute Meditation For Better Focus

Does meditation improve focus? A new study found that only 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation can provide measurable benefits in focus and productivity. The study involved 82 “highly anxious” college students and assigned them to a computer task that required sustained attention.

The students were then randomly assigned to a 10-minute meditation exercise or to a control group that did not meditate. The students assigned to the meditation group were able to shift their attention from their internal worries so that they could better focus on the task at hand.
This new study demonstrated how quickly and effectively a 10-minute meditation can help banish distracting worries that get in your way.
